A question about IanThis has been on my mind and I'd like everyone's thoughts about it.
As we're all aware, Ian Flynn unfortunately has this disturbing mentality to write the characters HIS WAY, even if goes completely against their authentic personality.
Here's a couple of recent examples.
1. Mina Mongoose viciously attacking Nicole with her music, and then angrily lashing out at Sally when confronted about it.
2. Sonic acting like a heartless jackass(even more than he usually does)
3. Geoffrey's backstory being completely rewritten just to make his whole Ixis wizard thing possible.
4. Sally's contrived roboticization/weaponization.
5. Elias cowering out in 224 just so Naugus would become king.
And these are just the icing on the cake of contrived moments.
So my question I'd like to everyone's thoughts on is, why do you think Ian chooses to intentionally warp the characters to fit his stupid stories rather than play to their strengths?
If I had to take a guess... he's secretly a power hungry fanboy.

Why Ian's Stories Are NOT Making Sense Whatsoever!Okay, so I decided to combine the two comments I made at two seperate clubs, to explain the problems with Ian's writngs and stuff like that. Here's the first one:
There's a little saying that goes "Been there, done that". And Ian's pretty much has been doing TOO much of being ther and done that!
Basically, Ian's been doing a LOT of plot twists and shock values. He makes Ken Penders and the other past writers sound like decent writers! I mean, at least they had Sally as a robot for one issue, for example, and Sally's "Death" only lasted four issues, until it was found out that she survived and was in a kind of coma.
Ian, sorry to say, makes the stories sound like a BADLY written parody of Star Wars. Least he didn't have Eggman say "Sonic, I AM your Father!". The guy's wasting our times with nothing but WAY too much talking, WAY too much drama and not enough action. For example, he made Mecha Sally TOO FAST for Sonic to get her, when all the other bots are either slower or at the same sp

Sonic #235: Rock Bottom Finally Hit"Flynn Never Meant To Kill! Flynn Only Meant To Maim, Or Seriously Injure!"
First off, I'm going to go out on a limb here and claim that I think we've officially hit rock bottom in the comic in #235 and we have nowhere further to fall (except for one thing brought up in 235 I'll talk about later). That being the case, I expect the story to finally pick up again, the writing to hopefully get much better now that the main focus will be the story and not just Flynn trying to "upset and unnerve" the fans, and in effect mean I won't have to call out the comic so much every month to prove just how badly flawed the story has gotten and how lazy it has been for so long (some decent emotional scenes in 235 though). At this point, it's up to Flynn to finally show us his master plan that he's constantly talked about and to prove that he can fully deliver on a story.
This being the case, if you are a hardcore Flynn supporter, I'd advise you to stop reading the jou

Ben could tell a dark story in a way that says "Life may be hard but you'll be much happier in the end if you fight back rather than be oppressed." Ian tells a story in such a way that says "Life sucks, there is nothing you can do, so you may as well just throw yourself into a furnace!" That was not the type of dark story we wanted.

"But Ian had plenty of more chances to do what he accuse him of wanting to do! Why would he wait until now?"
Because if my fears are correct and if he's smart about this, he won't make it too obvious.

Other-m and Archie Sonic SimilaritiesOkay, I had this in my head for a couple days so I figured I get this down now. Many of us have read archie sonic, and have read Ian Flynn's Other-M, and have different views, and many have said Archie Sonic is looking like Other-M. Now when I first heard someone say this, I thought to myself "what the heck? No it's not" and started thinking of the different characters and events. Doing this, I realized that there were some significant similarities between the two comics, and I will be stating them here.
One, Fiona Fox. I know what some of you are thinking 'Fiona Fox in other-m is NOTHING like Fiona Fox in Archie Sonic, and believe me, I thought the same thing at first, then I took a closer look. Mecha Sally - Good idea, horrifying executionWhen Mecha Sally was revealed about a year ago at Comic-Con, many Archie fans threw up their hands and walked away, claiming that Archie had gone too far and ruined their favorite character forever.

Are Most and Latest Issues becoming repetitive?From what some have said, they seem to be lately.

The reason, is because you have the same stuff being done over and over again, without any change or development.

What others have said, with the most recent issue, it was the same as before, Sally's cornered , and yet somehow she gets away just before Sonic or anyone can grab her. And many feel it just Ian repeating the same thing over and over again.

Now, understandable, others may disagree with this, and that's okay. For they may feel that it's just a way to get to the climax (so we've been told) in the 1 1/2 months.

Long-overdue RANT (oh mah GAWD. A RANT.)This has been at least two months overdue, so I'm just going to get it out of the way now. An explanation of "Plot Balooning"In lieu of an video review, I give you a detailed explanation of the current arc's main prob...well, one of the current arc's main problems.
Pacing.
Under normal circumstances, this would likely be a six-month-long story arc. Each issue would be packed with action so all the plot threads can be resolved, and the heroes would remain focused on their goal instead of embarking on pointless side missions.
But, no. After the stakes were set, Ian Flynn decided to raise them higher and higher, and add on to the already heavy story, and the end result is an example of what I call Plot Balooning. (TVTropes might call it something else, but I'm not sure.) Plot balooning is the natural result of too much padding. When you tack on issue after issue after issue, you of course have to make sure you resolve them in the most tactful, yet conclusive way possible. Doing this takes more issues that shouldn't have had to be made anyway if he had just left the plot alone and not made it a clusterfuc

Unless you're a diehard Ian Flynn supporter, I think most Sonic fans understand by now know there's something very wrong with the story currently going on in Archie Sonic.

Where do I start?

First of all, what is up with all the Sally hammering going on now by the Archie staff?

I mean, didn't Ian claim awhile ago that he liked this character?

And yet, since 225, he's...

1. Had her blown away with a turret gun. (Read Ian's email if you don't believe me) [link]

2. Made her sacrifice herself in one of the most ridiculous and contrived ways possible. (Seriously, Sally being that content to turn the beam on herself? Who does that without some form of fear or hesitation?)

3. Had Eggman take a blowtorch to Sally's metal body (More than likely, he had her metal parts in a pile off screen before turning her into a super weapon)

That is kinda sick if you really think about it.

Secondly, Bunnie being deroboticized at nearly the almost exact same time is nothing short of a, "What the heck?" moment.

Seriously, how does Flynn think that's believable at all?

You cannot just turn someone who, many issues ago(Super Sonic Special #11) was told her cybernetic process would remove any chance of being restored to normal without many eyebrows arching.

And yet, Ian pulls a deus ex machina moment here, basically saying, in not so many words "Who cares about continuity? I'm going to change the rules to fit my story."

A real class act, aren't you, Ian?

And lastly, Geoffrey's back story in 233.

I'm sorry, but again, Ian Flynn molded Geoffrey into his style of character because he could.

Meeting Ixis as a child to explain his out of nowhere Ixis powers from issues ago was nothing short of, "Yea, right!" moment.

Again, no mention or even reference to this whatsoever from his other moments in the comic.

Creative liberties are fine and dandy when within certain boundaries, but this was not one of them.

As I said, Ian changed the continuity to fit the characters to his liking.

So you may be asking yourself, "Why is Ian doing this? Why he is in a sense, playing god with the story and cast now?"

To give you a clear one word answer, it's simply this.

Other-M

Ian is now molding Archie Sonic into another version of Other-M because he is indeed the head writer.

The man can lie all he wants in saying it was a bad story from that email he sent earlier to

but I know better.

Ian Flynn loved that story. Pure and simple.

Why else put reference after reference after reference of Other-M in the, "Official Sonic Comic" if he now looks back at that story with deep disgust?

Because he doesn't.

That's why I'm officially providing a link at the top of the page so all Sonic fans, so can read this fancomic of his that they too will see Ian Flynn for who he really is.

I truly believe he is not a genuine Sonic fan, nor is he looking out after its best interest. This is a man who wants to be remembered for all the carnage and chaos currently going on after his time as head writer is over.

He even admitted that awhile ago on a Sonic site.

So, if any of you really believe Ian Flynn knows what he's doing, I strongly suggest your read his personal fan comic from years ago and then tell me honestly you still trust this guy.

i agree with you ArchieSonicLulz Sonic isnt the same as it use to be a friend of mind uploaded all the sonic the hedgehog tv shows and people actually like the older sonic. Plus i think All Sonic characters should be important and not treat some like trash because it it wasnt for them the sonic franchise would of died off. i gave up on sonic after ian started going insane in the comics. Treating a chacter like Sally as shit is just wrong if it wasnt for sally,roter,ect Amy,shadow, and all the new charaters wouldnt even exist like they do now. i got back into sonic because Other -M resparked me to get back into sonic one of my friends is even thinkingg of picking up where Other-M left off.

Archie Sonic has officially jumped the shark as a series, making one of the most ridiculous stories and then all for a Amy Rose styled outfit, an outfit Sally would never wear because it's a constant reminder what Eggman to did to her.

Yea, Ian's really got quite an ego trip, wouldn't you say? This outfit will be his little stamp on this crapstorm of a comic.

I just called it like it is. Ian is writing a horrible story, and instead of the fans calling him out for it, you all just make excuses.

What's really funny is the fact you say you're a Sally fan and yet you're not upset or even distubred by what your precious Ian did to her.

Here's a little reminder for you in case you forgot: He had her blasted to bits, had her roboticize herself in such a stupid way, cut apart graphically with a blowtorch, made into a pathetic villain, even having Amy cut in to flirt with Sonic in her stead.

And then, if that's not enough, he even has her in a similar design to Amy's after she's deroboticized.

Wow, now that is just downright cruel.

And yet, you all say Ian saved and restored her.

Yea, that's a good one...

Ken Penders didn't even stoop to such nonsense, and he's by far a bad writer.
